Donald David Underwood, 65, of Greer, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2009.

Born May 11, 1943, in Biddeford, Maine, he was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved by all for his gentle spirit and love of life.

Son of the late Harold and Ellen Underwood of Greenville, he is survived by his wife, Ruby Underwood; two daughters, Melissa Tate and Jennifer Cole; four stepchildren, David, Tony, Chris Hand and Tammy Gras; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two sisters, Alice Ruffman and Dottie Boudreau; two brothers, Robert and David Underwood.

He was predeceased by one son, Mark Underwood; three sisters, Mary Styles, Kathleen Boisneault, Rita Petrin; and two brothers, Joseph and Harold Underwood.

A special thanks to Interim Healthcare and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.

Memorial service will be held at Good News Baptist Church, 1592 South Highway 14, Greer, on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at 3 p.m.
