Wilbur Troy Moses  

September 9, 1943 ~ December 7, 2019 (age 76)

Wilbur Troy Moses, age 76, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Durham County on September 9, 1943 to the late Willie E. Moses and Ruth Lassiter Moses.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maybelline Harper Moses; daughter, Carolyn Patterson; son, Jeff Moses; granddaughter, Amy Ross and grandson, Jeremy Moses.  Troy retired from the NC Division of Highways as a crew leader.  He enjoyed time spent hunting, fishing and tending to his garden where he had a definite “green thumb”. 

Troy is survived by daughters, Jessie Lucus and husband, James of Four Oaks and Melinda Carlyle and husband, Tony of Cameron; daughter-in-law, Terri Moses of Sanford; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers and one sister who he connected with later in life.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Four Oaks Cemetery in Four Oaks, NC with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
