Edward “Parker” Hyman Jr., 75, of Castle Hayne, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at home, following a long illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Parker was born June 13, 1943, in Rocky Mount, to Edward P. and Callie D. Hyman, both of whom are deceased. He moved to Sanford in 1959 and graduated from Sanford Central High School, class of 1961. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Sanford Masonic Lodge, No. 151 Af&AM. He also belonged to the Oasis Shrine and the Scottish Rites.

He held that position for many years before relocating his family to Moore County after purchasing Triangle Auto Supply Inc. in Aberdeen. He was later owner of Aberdeen Welding Supply Inc. before retiring in 2005. He was also proprietor of several commercial properties.
Parker loved to fish, especially at the Outer Banks, where he spent a week every fall with friends. He also enjoyed boating and spending time at the family beach house at Ocean Isle Beach. He enjoyed watching football, Nascar, golf and tennis on television. He was an excellent cook and loved creating recipes. His greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky); three daughters, Beth (Mark), of Hampstead, Amy, of Castle Hayne, and Meg (Keith), of Carthage; five grandchildren, Tyler (Ann Hunt), Kellon, Rebecca, Peyten and Tucker.
