Brenda Jo Castleberry Bougsty   1943 - 2014

Brenda Jo Bougsty, born June 13, 1943 in Sanford, was married to Larry Bougsty on April 26, 1970.  She was educated at Campbell College, taught gymnastics and Phs. Ed. and, despite being paralyzed in a 1974 auto accident, participated and medaled in Wheel Chair Olympics, and continued impacting people with her active life.  Serving God from her wheel chair with husband Larry, she was involved in Extension Home Makers, and led AWANA Youth Programs in churches for over 35 years.  Even after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1989, Brenda and Larry cared for and encouraged people in homes, hospitals and prison ministry, changing and impacting countless lives for another 25 years.  Brenda is survived by her husband Larry; sister, Alice Jean Miller, Joyce Griffin, Rita Leinbach, Bobbie Baker, and many other beloved family members in North Carolina.  Memorial services were held Saturday, June 14th at Faith Church in Holly, Michigan.
