Bobbie Castleberry Baker, age 82, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her home.

She was born in Lee County to the late Carey Newton Castleberry, Sr. and Mamie (Juanita) Crowder Castleberry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur Lee Baker; son, Joseph Lee Baker; sister, Brenda Bougsty and two brothers, C.N. Castleberry, Jr., and Robert “Bud” Castleberry.  Mrs. Baker was a member of Euphronia Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed listing to gospel music and hymns. Her family was her greatest pleasure and brought her much joy.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Patricia Baker Coleman and husband, Michael of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three sisters, Alice Jean Miller and husband, Jerry of Cary, Minnie Joyce Griffin and husband, A.R. of Gainesville, Virginia and Rita Ann Leinbach of Winston-Salem;  five grandchildren, Tyler John Coleman and wife, Shawna Rubottom Coleman of Markleeville, California, Patrick Lee Coleman and Carey Graham Coleman of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Jacob Austin Baker of Sanford, and Kamryn Baker Mays and husband, Teddy of Columbia, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews and one special great-grandchild, Rhys Mays.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Euphronia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Keith Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the committal service in the Fellowship Hall.
