SANFORD -- Ernest l. Badgett, Jr., age 59, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tom Loftis. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
He was a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College. He received his Masters degree in English Literature from Appalachian State University. He was a member of the Temple Theater Board where he was well known for creative stage sets. He was internationally known as the "Cardboard King" for his elaborate use of cardboard in the design of Theater sets. He was a member and past president of the Sanford Lions Club and he was also a Mason. He was a licensed Funeral Director and worked with the family funeral home for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Miller Badgett; daughters, Alyson Badgett and Michelle Robertson Rogers and husband David, all of Charlotte, NC; a son, Jim Robertson and wife, Leigh of Killeen, TX; and a granddaughter, Natalie Kathleen Rogers.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Boles Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
